We did it again you all. Poof and it's a new year. Overall, I found 2022 to be a rollercoaster of competing emotions. However, through my own self-care, creative outlets such as writing for this blog, and support from friends and family, I made it through. How did last year treat you? As you complete your 2022 year in review, what are your biggest takeaways to guide your 2023? Last year when I assessed this, my answer was simple. I wanted to coach, counsel, educate, and bring laughter. That was it. I think I did an overall decent job; I'd probably give myself a C- grade. Today as we round out day 1 of 2023, I ask both myself and you, "Where would you like your life to go?" I recall asking myself this very question last year and it is as appropriate of a question this year as it was last year.
I know with all the celebratory activities, friends, family, and excitement, finding quiet time to pause and reflect may have been in short supply. But as you wind down today, I ask you to take a moment, spend some quiet time alone to think. Reflecting is absolutely powerful and an essential step in growth. I remember reading once that reflecting is of greater value than motivation or encouragement. That if you take time to pause and reflect, it affords you the opportunity to make sure you are on the right track. If you are going down the wrong street, motivation to speed up isn't going to get you off the wrong street. Neither will encouragement. Pausing to reflect however, affords you the opportunity to course correct. What course corrections are necessary for your 2023?
I won't hold you here long. However, I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage you to reconsider an assignment that I previously shared in the article, Intentionally Purposeful. I think it is appropriate for our new year reflections.
Find yourself a quiet, calm place where you will not be interrupted. What does your life look like if you were to realize your unique life's purpose of ____________. Where are you living? Where are you working or are you working at all? Who is with you? What activities make up a typical day for you? How does your body feel when you visualize it? Read over it three times per day and visualize it. Or if you prefer, record it in your voice and listen to it three times per day visualizing the scene you have set.
As I reflect on the C- grade that I gave myself for 2022 I came to realize that, though I kept my commitment to write to you all each week, I need to stretch and challenge myself to be more visible and accessible to my audience. I want to coach. I want to educate. I want to bring laughter. On this I am very clear. The course correction required of me, however, is the manner and methods in which I engage in these acts of service.
This is why I will be adding more informational group sessions to increase the sense of community I have envisioned with Envision Coaching & Consulting LLC. The intention behind this decision is simple; I desire to increase support among site members and increase shared accountability for setting and reaching goals. These informational group sessions will be listed under the Growing Together Master Classes tab of the book online section on the website. The first class will be, "New Year, New Intention" which is somewhat of a nod to this site's very first blog article "New Year, New Me: All Starts with Time." There will only be 4 sessions and you can select one of the following dates:
Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:30pm CST
Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00pm CST
Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00am CST
Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00am CST
Whether 1 person shows up or 100 show up, I will make myself available for these dates. I hope you will join me. As always, I appreciate your readership and would love to hear from you. In addition to intention setting, let me know in the comments below which other wellness topics you might want to see featured either in a blog article or an informational group session. As I close this article, please remember that wherever you are on this wellness journey, do not worry about getting it perfect; just get it going. Until next time. Happy reading! Welcome to 2023!

I really like this article.
I definitely took the time to reflect
on my 2022. I brought the new year in by reflecting and creating my vision boards for the year.
