Many people consider wellness to be a top priority in their lives especially around the new year. It's just something about that twelve-month clock cycle starting over to January 1 that gives us a sense of hope that the next year will be the best year of our lives. It is around this time that we start stating or posting arbitrary goals for the new year.
If you are a returning reader of our content, hello and welcome back! If you are new here, hi and welcome to EnvisionCo Blog where we not only write about wellness topics but also issue challenges to our readers to get active with the wellness areas they say are important to them. Since we are all still surfing the enthusiasm of highs from New Year's Day and pondering all the wonderful changes we are going to make this year, I figure I'd ask you to put your money where your mouth is (not really but that's the only expression I could come up with). Join me in my 7-day happiness list challenge. The article is short, and the goal is simple. Starting from the time you read this article, you grab your pen and paper and record the things that make you happy based on the predetermined list below.
Generally, for such exercises, I would ask you readers to identify what you are grateful for and allow you to flow wherever your mind flows to. However, this challenge is to get outside of the box and will list specific challenges by day. You ready?
Day 1 | List the movies, books, and TV shows that make you feel happy |
Day 2 | List the happiest and funniest stories and news you have heard lately |
Day 3 | List the things about yourself that you don't need to change |
Day 4 | List your favorite inspirational quotes |
Day 5 | List everything you think of as a treat for yourself |
Day 6 | List the things you are curious about |
Day 7 | List the people you want to spend time more time with this year |
With the turn of the calendar, it is so easy for each of us to forget all the positive things in our lives and only focus on the things that we want to change. It's like the good things that are going well for us take the back burner and our worries and frustrations spin in our heads like a hamster on a wheel. Thinking negative thoughts come so naturally to us. Finding our happiness requires concentration and planning. I hope that this challenge will be just the thing that helps refocus you on the things that are going right.
As always, I appreciate your readership and would love to hear from you in the comments below. What things made your 7-day happiness list? Please remember that wherever you are on this wellness journey, do not worry about getting it perfect; just get it going. Until next time. Happy reading!
